Information you share
When you contact The Carpet Scientist or The Property Scientist, we receive the details you choose to provide: your name, email, phone number, property address or ZIP code, requested services, preferred dates, photos and notes. Property account requests can also include your company, role, unit list, access requirements and billing or purchase-order requirements.
If you create a website member account or participate in the journal, Wix also processes the account, profile or comment information you provide. Please keep people, personal documents, alarm or lockbox codes, bank details and other sensitive information out of request photos and notes.
How we use it
We use this information to respond, assess service coverage and access, prepare estimates, coordinate appointments, perform accepted work, deliver media, handle payments and invoices, and keep service records. A request may generate a receipt for you and an alert for our team.
Sending a service request does not subscribe you to a marketing mailing list. We do not use your request photos in our portfolio or publicity without your permission.
Service providers & sharing
Wix hosts this website and provides its forms, file storage, member functions and request email tools. Our team and the providers needed to operate these functions can process submitted information. When relevant to your accepted service, payment providers process payments and Matterport hosts property tours. Their own privacy terms also apply to the services they provide.
We share property details with an agent, manager or other person you authorize when needed to complete the agreed work. We may also disclose information when required by law or to address fraud or protect legitimate rights. We do not sell the personal information submitted through our request forms.

Cookies, browser storage & technical data
The website and Wix may process technical information such as your IP address, browser, device, pages requested and security or error logs. Browser cookies and local storage support functions such as visitor identification and member sign-in. The automated service guide stores its conversation and selected service context in your browser session so the conversation can continue while you browse. We also keep the landing page, referring domain and campaign source labels in browser session storage. If you submit a service request, this source context is saved with the request to help us understand which pages lead to enquiries. We do not include URL fragments, private request links or personal form fields in this source context.
You can clear or restrict cookies and browser storage in your browser settings; this may affect sign-in, the guide or request functions. This website is not configured to change its operation in response to a browser’s “Do Not Track” signal. Wix may process usage information through its platform; its privacy information explains its own tracking practices. On our campaign request page, optional Meta advertising measurement is off unless you explicitly choose it. If you choose it, after your request is saved we load Meta Pixel to send a Lead event and related technical data, such as your IP address, browser/device information and the campaign page URL. We do not deliberately send your name, phone, email, property details, messages or private visit link in that event. We do not enable advanced matching. A Global Privacy Control signal keeps this measurement off. You can leave this optional choice unchecked on each request and still receive service. Meta’s own privacy policy also applies. No advertising pixel is loaded on that form before a successful submission.
Keeping information
We keep information for the time reasonably needed to handle inquiries, provide and document services, resolve concerns, and meet accounting or legal requirements. We limit access to those who need it for these purposes. No website or email system can guarantee absolute security.
Media delivery and hosting are separate from service-record retention. A Matterport tour includes 90 days of hosting unless the accepted quote states otherwise; continued hosting is arranged separately.
Your choices & requests
To ask what contact or property information we hold, correct it, or request deletion, email Services@thecarpetscientist.com. Identify the request and the email address used to contact us. We may verify your identity or authority over property information before responding. Some records may need to be retained for completed services, accounting, disputes or legal obligations; we will explain any applicable limitation.
You can request service by email or ask for a callback instead of uploading photos. We do not request card numbers through these website forms. Please use the payment method agreed directly with our team.
Optional business texts & calls
Service texts about requests, quotes and appointments are a separate choice from promotional offers and repeat-service reminders. Both are optional, unchecked choices. A phone number alone is not promotional consent. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies; message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Twilio and carriers process the calls, texts and caller-initiated voicemail needed to provide this service. We keep the number, conversation, customer type, consent source and time, and provider delivery status. Mobile information and text-message opt-in information and consent are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Service providers receive only information needed to operate the service.
Ordinary forwarded calls are not recorded by the app. A voicemail caller is told before recording. Read our text message terms and privacy for consent choices, opt-out, help and contact details. Text-message notice updated October 19, 2026.
Children, updates & contact
This website is intended for adults arranging property services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted information can contact us to request its removal.
This notice covers The Carpet Scientist and its property media division, The Property Scientist. We post changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will also be highlighted here; if an additional notice or consent is required, we will provide it.
